TAKE YOUR BLESSINGS AND CHALLENGES TO GOD - Archbishop Ndagoso

By Stephen Onyema

The Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Revd. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso , has called on the Catechists of the Archdiocese of Kaduna to remember that  they are called by God and not by any human being, adding that, those who teach and preach the Catholic Faith are working for God and God will always provide and protect them. The Archbishop said this in his homily at the 3-day retreat of the Catechists on 6th November, 2023, at St. JohnPaul II Social Center Chaplaincy.

He called on them to bring every challenges and blessings before the Lord and see Him work on them, adding that “Don’t  rely on your abilities and strength but on God who called you to work for Him”.

The Archbishop thank the Catechists for all their sacrifices and dedication to the Church. He noted that many places that the Priests cannot go, the Catechists are always there to teach the Catholic Faith amidst the challenges of insecurity facing the Nation.

Archbishop Ndagoso charged them to identify with everybody, but most especially with the poor and vulnerable in the society.
In his remarks shortly after the Mass, the Archdiocesan Chairman of Catechists , Catechist Bulus Umarson, thanked the Archbishop for ensuring that the welfare of the Catechists are well taken care of in the Archdiocese and for always encouraging and supporting them.
The retreat was facilitated by Revd. Fr. James Bawa, the Priest in-charge of Immaculate Conception Independent Mission, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna. The retreat which started from 6th to 9th November, 2023, has over 85 Catechists in attendance
