Experiences like these are not only painful but highly discouraging and disappointing.
Jesus’ admonition on John’s Gospel 12:24-26, “unless a wheat grain falls to the ground and dies, it remains a single grain. But if it dies, it will yield a rich harvest”, however, serves as a soothing balm that eases the pains we are going through.
The fire might have started around noon on the 10th day of January, 2023. The cause of the fire we speculate was due to bush burning from outside the seminary compound. The fire had gone too far before it was noticed as people who live close to the seminary had vacated their houses to safer places in Katari Town, The community responded immediately to the alarmed raised and tried their best to put out the fire but couldn’t because the level the fire had reached was beyond them.
